The Interior Offers Ample Storage And Looks... Interesting
It is worth pointing out that the most peculiar part of the Canoo Truck is its never-seen-before interior. While minimalist cabins have become a norm in today's EVs, the Truck takes it up a notch by not even having a dashboard to speak of. Instead, all the driving information is encapsulated into the digital-display instrument panel. As usual, a few buttons and displays can be seen strewn around. While most EVs today bury the climate controls in the infotainment system, this truck in particular chooses to perch them in the ceiling, above the rearview mirror.
In consistency with the overall odd nature of the car, consumers are treated to an unusual, rectangular steering wheel. At the standard level, the cockpit offers seating for two, with two additional jump seats in the back row. Due to the front seats being closely tied together, there is no center console to speak of. This lack of storage space is compensated for with another large storage area, placed behind the steering wheel, beneath the boxy, stretched-out windshield.
The company hasn't revealed anything specific in terms of cabin tech, but it could very likely include an Active Driver-Assist System. The truck will possibly feature the same ADAS software co-developed with AVL, which can be found on the Canoo Lifestyle Vehicle. Consumers should thus get a Level 2 Autonomous Driving, combined with a long set of safety and assistance features, including:
